My December

I was listening to the Linkin Park song, "My December" and realized it has been about 3 weeks since the last blog.

We had a pretty lovely and lazy Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Gabe and I took Mia for a playdate with Gabe's parents' cats. However, Mia was Ms. Antisocial. She kept growling and hissing at the other cats, especially the lil kitten that Gabe now wants to trade for. Haha. So Mia stayed locked in the house glaring at the door while we all made our way next door to Gabe's grandparents' hosue. We had an early dinner and food coma pretty much settled in the rest of the day.

Friday, we went to meet with a linen vendor who is also Gabe's sister Sarah's friend. The vendor was very helpful and thorough. We walked away with a few things to think about as we awaited the estimate by email. We spent most of the weekend cleaning and lounging about the apartment.

Saturday we had our own mini Thanksgiving. Gabe and I had purchased a small 7.5 pound turkey. We hauled the ingredients over to a friend's house where I proceeded to make dinner. In all, I made mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stained glass jello, gravy, stuffing, green beans, and of course turkey. While we waited for the turkey to bake, we played Risk, listened to music, and sipped on wine. The turkey actually turned out well. There was even enough leftovers for everyone to have a plate for the following day. Just my style. Too many leftovers are tiring.

Invitations have been ordered for the bridal shower, bachelorette party, and rehearsal dinner. Gabe's wedding band arrived. It fits and he likes it! Now we will add it to our insurance policy. We have an appointment next week to go over details of our contract with the venue, and have the wedding coordinator do a site walk through. We still have not purchased our wedding insurance. It is at the top of the To Do list, after my two dress fittings later this month. Finally, we scheduled our engagement photo session for late February.
