Big Changes for the New Year

In the last couple weeks we have managed to cross off quite a number of big items on our to do list. Yet, the pressure is starting to intensify as the date approaches.

Time was running out before the dress style I chose for the bridesmaids would be discontinued. I was about ready to pull my hair out. Somehow we managed to get all the dresses ordered just in time. The estimated arrival date is late March/early April.

We signed the contract and paid the deposit for our vendor providing the chair covers. We've made reservations with the venue to attend their February food tasting event. The wedding reception menu will be finalized shortly after, and our invitations mailed by mid-February.  

A couple cake ideas have also been sent over to our sponsor. Hopefully the cake maker can design something simple and tasty. The cake wedding topper has been purchased. Our wedding vows and ceremony detail have been written. We sent it over to our officiant, a.k.a. Gabe's friend and old college roommate. 

I booked my hair and makeup appointment for the wedding. Through our wedding coordinator, I was able to purchase the services in advance at 60% off. Just in case the bridal party decided to use the services, a couple of hours before my wedding appointment have been blocked off for them. I know of at least two people who will take advantage of the rates. The artist will also do my trial hair and makeup for my engagement pictures. 

We've narrowed down a few choice locations for our engagement photos. We toured one last weekend and decided against it. There are a few more, two of which we hope to check out tomorrow. One last place I would love, but it's been tough convincing Gabe. I've started sifting through our wardrobes to find a couple outfits. I think we're almost set on attire.   

Luckily our 6 month check-up and teeth cleaning with our dentist is scheduled one week prior to our engagement photo session. I went ahead and scheduled our next one to just before the wedding. Need to make sure we have pearly whites for those pictures! 

Our Maid of Honor and Best Man have been busy planning out the pre-wedding events. Of course, our events will be entirely separate. An email has gone out to the guys on the invite list, and invitations mailed out to the women. We look forward to having a great time with our friends and family. 

We're finally moving! Yay! On Monday, we signed our new lease and gave our 30 day notice. We'll be in the same general area, but our place will be nicer and feel bigger. I will also have my washer/dryer! I've already been bringing home boxes from work this week, that coworkers have set aside for me. I've even started packing and throwing things away. Our official move-in date is February 1. We'll most likely haul everything over in a rental truck that Friday or Saturday. Talk about progress!
