We did it! We're married! Already for 1 month too!
We are so appreciative of the family and friends who who were able to share our special day with us. We are thankful to our vendors: Epiphany Events by Melissa, Stephina Photography, The Creative Music DJ, San Diego Wholesale Flowers & Bouquets, A&C Linen Rentals, Glam Dolls Hair & Make-up Artistry, and Admiral Kidd Catering & Conference Center for helping to make the day beautiful and stress-free.
I didn't sleep too well the night before the Big Day. It was probably due to excitement. I went to pick up my uncle at the hotel in the morning. He is a certified masseuse, so I was going to have a massage while a few girls were getting their hair and makeup done. I was super relaxed and laid back by the time it was my turn for hair and makeup. Then bestie worked on sissy's hair, and I did her makeup. Mom picked up some scrumptious Mexican food since it was just past lunch time. Then we started gathering the things we would need to take to the venue.
We arrived a little early to the venue. We and the vendors were not allowed to enter and setup earlier than 3pm or else there would be an additional charge. So, I had to hide out in the car for about 10-15 minutes as Gabe and the groomsmen were arriving. Haha. Us girls proceeded upstairs to the Bridal Dressing Room while the boys were taking pictures. Then I kind of lounged and tried to breathe deeply or else I would tear up. All bridesmaids (except one) arrived and began getting ready. I helped with final zip ups, strap hiding, sparkly fluffing, etc.
Then it was my turn to get dressed. I'm already the shortest girl, but mom and sis didn't realize how low they needed to hold the dress for me to step in. A few things planned were out of order or didn't happen, but they aren't too big of a deal and didn't change the outcome of the day. So I didn't worry. By that point, I didn't care what happened as long as everyone had a good time, and Gabe and I were happy.
As us girls made our way downstairs for photos, my coordinator and her assistant worked with the photographers to make sure Gabe wouldn't spot us. We were still missing one bridesmaid who was running late, so a few solo photos were taken, along with a few with mom, sis, and granny. The overcast layer had burnt off, and the sun was shining bright. It was a gorgeous day, especially with the venue's view of the San Diego bay and downtown skyline.
Then came the Reveal. Gabe was escorted around the building. I stood against the wall facing the patio where the cocktail hour would be held. As Gabe walked up from behind to tap my should, he accidentally stepped on my dress. Oops. I turned around giggling, but half stuck. Cameras were flashing everywhere to get our reaction of first seeing each other. Gabe told me I looking so beautiful and he loved the simplicity and style of my dress. I immediately began to tear up. He looked so dashing with his haircut and guayabera shirt. We took some photos with each other, and with all bridal party members. Guests began to arrive. Gabe went to greet them while I went back to the bridal room to touch up for the ceremony.
I was called to get ready to descend the stairs. The soft ceremony music was playing, all guests were seated, and my grandpa was waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs to escort me down the aisle. I smiled and started tearing again, looking at him so excited. As I walked down the aisle, I was so happy to see Gabe was at the end. He hadn't chickened out, and I was crying joyful tears. I turned to see my mom, grandma, and bridesmaids so happy, a couple tearing as well. The ceremony was officiated by a college friend (also Gabe's old roommate) and my sister read a special poem. Once we were pronounced husband and wife, I was so excited and crying joyful tears.

The rest of the night went by so fast! We stole a few moments with each other before taking more photos, greeting guests, eating a yummy dinner (filet mignon, artichoke chicken, and pasta primavera seated entrees), crying during the toasts, and dancing the night away. It was truly an enjoyable and memorable wedding!

Wishing you two the best. Tio David
